There are many Christians but a Few Followers of Christ

the world now is just so cruel, so corrupt, so selfish. even though we produce good thoughts, the end point of that is still not worth it because some way it is still directed back to us. well, to make it specific, its a majority and mostly these actions come from the people who do matter (or want to matter in this world) hence this builds the “popular” identity. producing wealth/success/identity for yourself is great, but how do you handle it after you get it. i know so many people that get big headed, self-righteous, or the pride factor controlling them because of these great things they got. look good thoughts can bring you happiness but its how well you handle it that brings you joy. joy being used in a way that would last you for a life time. maybe this is the true difference between wisdom and knowledge. knowledge are information in your head, wisdom is when you choose and act upon the best information in your head.

everything i stated basically boils down to religion. thinking about it, when i said good thoughts in a way not lead to the best result. same thing about religion. my friend asked me before, “whats the right religion? the truth is, there is no right religion. when Gandhi stated that “I like your Christ but i do not like your Christians” he was talking about religion i think it was because of the self-righteous liars during his time. hey, his time isn’t that different from ours, we too still have our self righteous liars. besides the self righteous liars, talking about Christians specifically. whether your born again, roman catholic, baptist, methodist, i don’t care. lemme make a strong statement. when the bible uses the term Christian, it did not mean it as a religion or as a group or not even limited to being baptized as children of God, i believe it meant followers of Christ and that is the main definition above all things.

don’t worry, i’m not limiting this to actions even though it said in the book of james because there is no perfect Christian but it is a process of life in terms of getting the crown of life here on earth. it says in samuel “God does not look at what man looks at but he looks at the heart”. in order to understand the bible you have to combine what you understood in the new testament and old so that the message will be understood clearly. look, you may keep on doing good things, but hey, God still loves you but thats not going to matter. i know your saying at least God loves me, but seriously, thats not what he wants. HE COULD DO GOOD WORKS ON HIS OWN (dont get me wrong, good works must be done so that the world will be peaceful but the matter of your heart is more important to him).

so joe what are you trying to tell me?

i know we all sin and we cant get out of that. but my questions for you are, if you do something wrong do you feel sorry to God or to the person (i hope to God first)? if you haven’t heard Gods word (and im not talking about the rosary, church, holyweek or whatever religious thing) do you hunger to find it? or basically, above all things, do you wish to spend eternity with God?

now for my last question are you a follower of Christ or just someone who considers himself a son/daughter, a roman catholic, a born again christian, a baptist, a methodist, a doer of good works?

to follow christ you should not limit his laws from your stock knowledge, but from the complete message the bible is trying to relay from old to new..

its mainly not about actions but about the heart. (doing good things are important, but their only secondary to the desires of your heart)
